Special Olympics Equestrian Competition
Special Olympics athletes who compete in the equestrian events learn to ride, develop sports skills and gain the self confidence to direct and control a horse. Competition begins on Friday, 5/17, and continues through Sunday afternoon, 5/19.
Phillip Ranch presents the Big Loop Big Money Team Roping, Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2013. Roping begins at 9am both days. Admission is free to the public.
Capital Farm Credit and Texas AgriLife are partnering to host The Next Generation Agricultural Conference designed to provide both educational and financing opportunities to beginning farmers and ranchers on Thursday and Friday, May 23-24. The curriculum will be tailored to the type of agriculture in our region. Conference is free to those who register two or more days in advance. Late conference registration is $50. The Central Texas Miniature Horse Club presents The Showcase of the Minis, May 24-26, 2013. Shows begin at 8am, Friday through Sunday. Admission is free to the public.
The Texas Junior Limousin Association will hold their annual TJLA Field Day at the Brazos County Expo, May 31-June 2. The show begins at 10:30am on Saturday and 9:00am on Sunday.
Dressage, an equestrian event in the Olympics, was derived from battlefield maneuvers on horseback. The competitions will take place Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2.
